Hi! My name is Aurora and I am a postgraduate student at the University of Manchester, studying a Masters in Development Economics. I am originally from Italy, but I moved to the UK when I was 16 and sat both my GCSEs and A Levels in London. In my GCSEs I achieved 8 A* and 4 A grades. These were the second-highest results in my cohort, despite the fact I had only been living in England for two years before sitting my exams. At sixth form, I taught myself French A Level in just one year and achieved an A grade, the highest grade in my class. I have always found learning languages an extremely rewarding, albeit sometimes frustrating process. Although languages open up doors to new ways of thinking and seeing the world around you, grasping the different aspects of a language, such as its grammar, can be demoralising. And that’s what I am here for - as a fellow language learner, I can empathise with the difficulties of this process and will do my best to make it as smooth and fun as possible. Furthermore, as a foreigner who has been through the UK education system, I am able to advise those in similar positions and facing similar challenges. Students learn in different ways, so I will adapt our lessons depending on your preferred learning style. During the introductory lesson, I will ask you questions in order to determine how you study, and your responses will shape the way I plan our future sessions. My name is Giada, an Italian expatriate in the UK for 7 years. I hold a degree in Forensic Science. My passion for learning fuels a desire to share knowledge, embodying a blend of cultural richness and scientific curiosity. Hi there! I'm Andrew I'm 24, and I'm BA Modern Languages graduate from the University of Bath and experienced traveler and linguist. I speak English, Spanish and Italian. During my placement year abroad I lived in Pamplona, Spain for 1 year, 3 months in Liguria, Italy, and spent 2 months interailing the whole of Italy. Passionate about intercultural communication, language learning, and connecting with people wherever I go. Hey! My name is Maria and I am 23 years old. I am currently studying Dietetics at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. I have grown up trilingual, speaking Italian, German and Ladin at home with family and friends. Ladin is a very uncommon language, only 40,000 people speak it. Moreover, I speak English fluently and learned Russian for 5 years (B1 level). After finishing high school I went to Australia for 7 months. I worked and travelled along the southern and eastern coasts. I have worked as a teacher for a couple of months a few years ago, with a special focus on children with learning difficulties. I can teach Italian and German at all levels, and Maths and Biology at Lower Level. I don't have a preferred student age group.
