Hello there! I'm Rochelle and I'm excited to be your tutor! I have a degree in Master of Arts in Education major in Mathematics and also a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics. I've been a teacher for 6 years now, handling various subjects in Junior High School and Senior High School, age ranging from 10 to 23 years old. I am also an international coach in Mathematics Olympiad. I have a license as a professional teacher which I acquired last 2018. As an educator, my teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that every student has the potential to excel when given the right support, guidance, and opportunities to learn. My role as a teacher is to create a supportive and inclusive environment where students feel confident to express their ideas, take risks, and explore their potential. I started this journey in 2019, and completed it this September 2024. I earned my degree in Bachelor of Secondary Education, major in Mathematics, in 2018. During my time there, I was a Dean’s Lister, demonstrating my passion and dedication to academic excellence. I graduated as Class Valedictorian during my Elementary and Secondary School. In terms of experience, I’ve been teaching as a Senior High School Teacher II since October 2021. I’ve had the opportunity to handle various subjects, including Mathematics, Practical Research, and Accounting related subjects. Before this, I had a brief stint as a substitute teacher in September 2021, and I also taught for three years at Jose Rizal Institute from 2018 to 2021, teaching Mathematics to both junior and senior high school students. I have already attended various trainings and seminars in Mathematics. Aside from that, I won different competitions in Mathematics, the recent was as a winning coach for National Olympiad and set to compete in International Olympiad. Through my experiences in different teaching environments, I’ve developed a strong foundation in instructional methods and a deep commitment to helping students excel in their academic pursuits. He estudiado en Madrid, siempre me ha interesado el área de informática. Me gusta dar clases, aunque no es mi actividad laboral principal. Planificación de clases de forma que se oriente más a la resolución de problemas o ejercicios de selección múltiple. Explicaciones teórícas y resolución de problemas de forma claro haciendo uso de ejercicios, ejemplos y demostraciones para afianzar la comprensión de los temas y generar retentiva respecto a los conceptos. Uso de recursos audiovisuales, como videos, simulaciones y juegos para incentivar la participación en los estudiantes. Fomento de autonomía por parte de los estudiantes a repasar y estudiar por su cuenta para integrarse de manera efectiva a su vida universitaria. Organización de sesiones de repaso con el fin afianzar conocimientos y abordar áreas que los estudiantes encuentren desafiantes, para luego realizar retroalimentación con los estudiantes sobre que temas deben orientar su autoaprendizaje. Estudié Ingeniería Física en la Universidad Nacional de Colombia, donde aprendí sobre modelado, simulación y análisis de sistemas físicos. También adquirí habilidades de programación en lenguajes como Python y Visual Basic, lo que me ha ayudado a resolver problemas y analizar datos de manera eficiente. Antes de la universidad, estudié en la Escuela Normal Superior, donde me formé en técnicas de enseñanza y planificación de clases. Esta mezcla de formación técnica y pedagógica me permite explicar los temas de manera clara y ayudar a los estudiantes a conectar la teoría con la práctica.
