My name is Arcel, and I’m 29 years old. I'm a Math teacher but I can also teach Science (Biology & Chemistry) and Sociology. I like also playing basketball and guitar—two activities that allow me to express myself creatively and stay active. Whether it’s on the basketball court or playing my favorite songs, I enjoy the challenge and the connections these hobbies bring. I graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Secondary Education, Majoring in Mathematics (BSED-Math), and I’m currently pursuing my Master’s in Teaching Mathematics. My journey in education is driven by my passion for mathematics and my desire to help students see the beauty in the subject. Teaching is something I’m deeply committed to, and I believe that with patience and the right approach, I can inspire students to develop a love for learning. I graduated with a Bachelor of Secondary Education, majoring in Mathematics (BSED-Math) from Northern Mindanao Colleges Inc. in April 2016. Shortly after, I successfully passed the licensure examination for teachers in September 2016. Currently, I am furthering my education by pursuing a Master’s degree in Teaching Mathematics. My passion for mathematics and my dedication to education drive me to help students discover the beauty and relevance of the subject. Teaching is a profession I am deeply committed to, as I believe it is through education that I can make a lasting impact on students' lives. My goal as an educator is not only to help students master mathematical concepts but also to inspire them to develop a genuine interest in the subject. Sono un'archeologa medievista che non ha nulla a che fare con Indiana Jones, né con draghi e cast---, beh castelli e torri sì! Insegno ormai da quasi tre anni tutte le materie umanistiche a studenti fra i 12 ed i 30 anni, ma anche adulti (è capitato che qualcuno volesse migliorare il proprio italiano: e la mia libreria è stata molto felice d'esser coinvolta! Un buon libro è sempre d'aiuto infatti). Arte, storia, letteratura italiana ed architettura (come studio dei monumenti) sono infatti come i cioccolatini che offro a tutti, con carta diversa, ma sempre in grado di conquistare a chi "viene a trovarmi" in videolezione! :) Ho lavorato in passato con piccone e matita al seguito, perché mi sono occupata (ed in parte mi occupo ancora) di analisi dei monumenti antichi (romani e medievali), topografia (lettura della cartografia antica e non solo) e, più in generale, di Medioevo; ma anche di arte e storia dal mondo greco a quello contemporaneo (le espressioni artistiche del Novecento son sempre state per me leggibili proprio grazie all'arte antica!). Mi muovo quindi fra passato e presente! Faccio parte della community di GoStudent dallo scorso agosto 2021, ed ho subito trovato qui un luogo in cui poter utilizzare i miei strumenti del mestiere (nessun piccone in testa! Per carità!): amore per il dettaglio, cura, pazienza, e soprattutto saper riconoscere che tutto racchiude un mistero, va solo portato alla luce! So bene che «il diavolo è nei dettagli», e che quindi la semplicità è sempre apparente. Un esempio? Si provi a disegnare due torri costiere del Seicento, come ho fatto io nella mia ultima tesi di laurea: non basta saper fare un cerchio! Ma la soddisfazione, il veder prendere vita un disegno, così come il percorso di uno studente, è qualcosa di sensazionale...ed emozionale. Mi appassiono alla crescita soprattutto degli studenti in fasce d’età apparentemente più semplici (ecco che ritorna l’apparenza): dalle medie all'Università, passando per la "temibile" maturità; ho un ricordo molto affettuoso e caro di tutti gli studenti che ho preparato, accompagnato e incoraggiato in questi anni per la loro maturità (seguendoli nel groviglio di autori del Novecento, nelle terribili guerre del XX secolo studiate in storia, e nelle affascinanti espressioni artistiche delle Nuove Avanguardie, e non solo). Mi definisco una tutor "umanamente a tutto tondo", perché resto nel mio: storia, arte ed italiano, proponendomi al 100% nel supporto scolastico, e soprattutto umano! Caffeinomane per credo, un nome che è tutto un programma: mi sento a tutti gli effetti un essere marino, perché vivo fra la costa ionica e quella tirrenica, fra Vesuvio e distese di ulivi a perdita d'occhio. Sono un'archeologa medievista, il mio percorso è iniziato conseguendo una laurea triennale in Beni Archeologici e poi una laurea magistrale in Archeologia, entrambe presso l'Università del Salento (Lecce), con lavori incentrati: il primo sulla figura di Manfredi di Svevia, il secondo sull'analisi tecnica e architettonica di un monumento del Settecento. Successivamente ho proseguito diplomandomi presso la Scuola di Specializzazione in Beni Archeologici "Dinu Adamesteanu" (Università del Salento, Lecce), presentando uno studio di carattere tecnico e architettonico su due torri costiere del Seicento presenti sulla costa ionica. Ho sviluppato, grazie al percorso con GoStudent, una certa esperienza nell'affiancare, seguire, consigliare e supportare ragazzi di ogni età, dalle scuole medie sino ai tesisti nelle materie umanistiche, incontrando talvolta anche colleghi archeologi bisognosi di una revisione della propria tesi, o studenti di architettura moderna e contemporanea che "battagliavano" con il libro..ma del resto: chi non ha incrociato spada contro spada con il proprio libro di studio? Dalle scuole medie fino all'Università è una battaglia ad armi (im)pari! Ecco, proprio per questa lotta (im)pari, con il libro, con la materia, con il prof (ahi ahi i prof di storia ed italiano, ahi ahi Manzoni, e della storia romana, ne vogliamo parlare?!) mi son trasformata in drago: tutti gli studenti che seguo son per me da proteggere, guidare e soprattutto accompagnare nel superamento delle proprie paure, non c'è un "non ce la posso fare", ma piuttosto: "andiamo, camminiamo insieme!"
