Hi, I`m Azalea, a third year medical student at Newcastle University. I have recently graduated with a first class bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences from St. George's, University of London. I am very passionate about tutoring students to maximise their academic potential. I've studied Biology, Chemistry and Maths to A level, and am continuing to learn about these subjects in my medical degree!

Languages: English Preferred Student age group: Any About Me Hi, my name is Harry, I am currently a First Year, and would like to study Computer Science at the University of Southampton. I have taught more than 50 lessons and helped at countless seminars and sessions throughout my school, where I have worked with students from ages 11 to 18 years old. I have been able to adapt my teaching style according to the student each time. I understand that Mathematics and Sciences are sometimes challenging. However, I have several different techniques that can be useful in improving your ability, which also allowed me to achieve A*AA at A-Level and 5A/A*'s at GCSE. As for hobbies, I enjoy swimming, football and badminton. I occasionally attend sessions with friends and family to improve my fitness. I also love cooking, baking in particular, where I tend to make brownies and cupcakes most of the time.

I am studying biomedical sciences at university and I did both triple science at GCSEs and Chemistry and psychology A level. I also did religious studies and music GCSE and I received a 7 in both of them. I was a volunteer at an after school club for 4 years and I have also volunteered at a care home in the past.

With every session, I aim to keep topics relatable and enjoyable for my students and also to make them understand why this particular topic is relevant to them. As I believe, this understanding is half of the learning journey that they need to make. Currently, I am pursuing my aspiration of a career in medical research. I am studying Pharmacology at the University of Reading which has enforced the importance of always striving to learn; so I encourage my students to embrace learning. Studying the medical field has highlighted the importance of teaching and learning: in particular explaining concepts in a manner that will enable a deeper understanding. As an individual who enjoys a problem solving challenge, of which I have demonstrated during my many voluntary pursuits, including at a school and at a hospital, I have communicated with a wide range of individuals. So, in establishing a student's needs, I understand the issues they are facing and find solutions to their problems. Guiding a student through revision is no easy task as no student learns in the same format. Presenting the student with ideas and having them put these into practice is what I aim for to prepare them for exams.

About me: Having graduated from the University of Sheffield (MRes Ecology and Environment - Distinction), I will be starting my PhD in Sept 2023 at the University of Birmingham. Prior to this, I studied Biology at Imperial College London, and took Maths, Chemistry and Biology for A-levels. I've been a private tutor for two years now, and I started off tutoring because I enjoyed teaching my peers at school. In my free time, I enjoy playing the piano and listening to music.
